I’m building an ADD now and I picked up a 3PDT buffer board as well. I’m trying to decide on whether to add the buffer to this circuit or save it for something else.

Any reason to NOT use the buffer here? I always have a buffer at the beginning of the pedalboard, but it seems like a generally good idea to have another one in the chain. Plus it would be handy to have a buffer built-in for smaller setups. It brings to mind my Wampler Tumnus (Klon-based) and with the buffer, even if it’s the only pedal I’m running through, it perks the tone up nicely.

The other thing I was thinking of was saving the buffer for a delay. This way I’d have a buffer at both ends of the pedalboard chain.

    Thoughts?

There is no reason not to use a buffer in either scenario. I suggest it for all the reasons you mention.

Nothing worse than taking a True Bypass pedal off your board for another guitar player to use along with his pair of 25 foot cables and all of a sudden everything turns to crap. Then he says why does your pedal sound like crap compared to his Boss Pedal (which is buffered).

You could also consider an AfterBlaster, killer tones await for those about to rock.

Thanks for confirming, Barry. This should be a great pedal once I’m finished.

Good point about letting others try the pedal as well.
