First completed this aion Cerulean back in 2013 and it held a significant spot on my board for a few years through several clipping diode and IC changes before it ceased to function.  With a large pile of incomplete projects on my bench it ended up relegated to the dreaded bottom drawer and was occasionally scrounged for parts.  Finally decided to pull it out and do a little trouble shooting – replaced the IC (OPA 2134PA), missing capacitor, and the nonfunctional LED.  Also changed the clipping diodes out for a single germanium and a pair of 2N7000s one side and a pair of 2N5457s on the other.  Dropped it back on my board and it came back loud and proud.  I like both the Mosfet/germanium and FET clipping – will probably add another germanium to the Mosfet side to make more difference from the FET side.  The Mosfet/germanium combo is a touch warmer/rounder/smoother than the FETs.

Here’s the face (the flange around the power jack is to fix a drilling error when I lost count of the steps):

And the guts (the wire is all Barry’s hook up wire and note the Pot Condoms as well):

    Thanks for looking.

Love that Mosfet/germanium clipping. Nice job with the resurrection. ‘Lost count with the steps’ yup, happens to me too.

    Looks good

I’m guilty for foraging parts off of working builds I haven’t yet boxed as well as those bottom drawer jobs, I’ve a few of those!
