I’ll start by saying thank you to everyone on this forum. The guides and the forum have been a great reference.

Over the summer my cousin gave my 14 year old son a handful of guitar PCB boards, a box loaded with components and challenged him to try building a pedal. Well he accepted the challenge and completed the “Uncle Deadly” (Blues Breaker), and “Kermit’s Dirty Secret” (Tube Screamer). He has learned a ton of skills along the way soldering, de-soldering, re-soldering, spray painting, digital editing with the gimp, and troubleshooting to name a few.

He is now working on the MKC before starting on 2 super 70’s. One of the Super 70’s is for my cousin as payment for getting him started on this new hobby.

The Telecaster in this picture is one that he built with his Uncle last winter.

What a great story!  We are all victims of this wonderful hobby.  It is a habit I picked up from Barry years ago when I retired.  I knew I needed something to keep my brain working.  I came back to the two things I knew before I worked for a living:  Guitars and electronics.

Now I love to help others acquire this hobby.  Everyone here at GUITARPCB.COM welcomes you and your son and offers any help you need to enjoy this pastime.
