    Hello,

I built the tight Box as my first pedal, it seems to sound good but I can’t be sure 100% because I have no comparison .

    However I’m facing two issues:

    1) the pedal emits cracking noise when swelling the guitar volume knobs. the pots are working great with any other pedal, even with high gain.

    2) the bass eq knob on the pedal cause a strange feedback noise when cranked up, can’t go over 75%.

I’ve tested with a Gibson Les Paul and the pedal go straight in a clean channel of a Boss Katana.

Can anyone put me in the right direction to fix them?

Is there a voltage table to check if I made some building mistake or have some faulty component?

Every advice to troubleshoot will be appreciated

    Hve a great day!

I was wrong about a point, the pedal was running to the amp through a boss gt-1 with no effects on. Removing the gt-1 I found that I have no cracking when turning the guitar volume pots.

That would mean everything is good then.

For anybody reading always test a new pedal by itself and not in any chain or loop.

    Thank you Barry,

the second problem still remains, not a big issue but the bass knob generates a feedback/hiss noise when maxed.

Re-flow all solder joints because that would not be normal.

Perhaps even a bad pot. Check all resistor values one by one in the general area (schematic wise) around that pot.

All your values and orientation that I can see look correct

Feedback / hiss can be caused by a few things make sure your caps around the pot C12 and 13 in particular have good solder joints

    Thank you Barry and Billy,

i had some joint that looked good, but after your suggestion and inspection with a lens i found some of them was not perfect.

reflowed.. et voilà.. no more issues.

    Thank you again guys
