Hi everyone, I am in the testing phases of my super 70s build and the fuzz is the only thing not working correctly.  I can get a low cleanish sound or spastically spitty.  I subbed the 2N5089 transistors for BC239Cs, but can’t seem to get the bias right, was thinking maybe I needed more resistance to bias correctly.  Anyone try to sub transistors?

    Thanks

You needed to use a transistor with a similar pinout the Subs you used are opposite pinout of the 2N5089. I would suggest a 2N5088 which does have the same pinout or flip the ones you have.

Barry, thank you!  I googled the pinouts and realized my mistake.  I was in the middle of flipping them when you posted and was going to update my post to solved.  You are so freaking fast to help out!  It works like a charm now – great grab and go jam solution.

The BC239 does sound very nice, btw.
