I have a Thomas VOX Berkeley 3 that has a dead Reverb drive transformer – it was made of unobtainium

I was thinking that I could replace the reverb circuit with the “Add Verb” board without too much trouble. Only one channel goes through it and then a simple blend to the power amp driver.

There are also amps out there that use reverb units no longer made, such as the crystal phono head design used on VOX amps (they were too cheap to pay the license for the Accutronic ones). They could also use a replacement.

Any thoughts or ideas would be great

Do you have the schematic for the VOX? There may be a driver stage and a recovery stage in that circuit for the reverb.  That might make this transistion to solid state unworkable.  The issues to consider are the signal levels and impedances through that circuit.
