BarryKeymasterThe little Tip on the silkscreen is always the Emitter, Base is the center, and Collector is the other side.

ParticipantOk thank you guys. Whole new set of issues now on this build. So I am daisy chaining the tone tweak into the purp I get no signal from the tone tweak but I do get signal from the purp but gives the opposite effect. It cuts instead of bosts I also modded the grit with a A10k potentiometer instead of the trim 10k. The transistor I used is an A92 it read 137 hfe on my mm. Not sure if that is the issue or not but just trying to figure it out I have power to everything and I have tested for continuity to both boards. But that’s as far as I got.
Here’s a pic of the build.

PlaysforfunModeratorYou may be going a little too fast, Mickey. Lets start with two working boards before combining them. I don’t see anything wrong but I can’t see much from your photo. You may need to start a build support thread.

ParticipantOk well I will un solder the breakouts and start with the purp

BarryKeymasterEarlier I mentioned that the Emitter is always the pad near the Tip (or Tab) on the silkscreen
When I looked up a datasheet for an A92 transistor (see below) it shows that you have the Collector side soldered to the pad with the Tip aka the Emitter. So it would appear that the transistor is in upside down.

Thank you sir I unsoldered it from the other board to further test but haven’t got much further I will reverse that next and see where that takes me.

ParticipantOk so reversed and changed out the A92 to n3906 and actually the pin out for the 3906 is the same as the A92 so with doing that the purp side is fixed. But started working on the tone tweak board and I have tried to test everything with volts and continuity. Found I didn’t have volt passing through R1 and R12 so lifted one leg to test each couldn’t get a reading so replaced both. I THEN did my bench amp testing and I have through signal but as soon as I hit the switch I get nothing still. I AM at a loss now. Lol thank you for any help.

PlaysforfunModeratorOK great. So the PURP is good to go. I would suggest starting a support thread for the Tone TwEQ complete with all the clear photos and voltages that we like and we can help figure it out.

ParticipantI will do that. But right now I have another side project. Going its hunting season here and I process game on the side and had a elk brought to me so it’ll be a few days before I get to it. Thanks for the help so far.
