Many thanks for your speedy reply. This greatly helps, though my version of the P.U.F.F. is still older or at least different (PCB layout with the IC to the bottom left in horizontal position). Anyway, I think I figured it out.
One more question: R3 is defined as 330/470R, with both resistors supplied. Is this a trial-and-error, or is there any recommendation for the value?
Although there is no discussion of this in the Build Document, I believe the 2 resistor values are provided if you have trouble achieving a bias voltage in the preferred range or tone. You may wish to socket this position and try both values. The link provided does provide a much greater discussion of this circuit.
Thanks, that helps. I have already ordered a socket to solder to the PCB for easy resistor exchange. I will see how the biasing is working then, I have never done that before…
