After a series of rookie mistakes and fumblings, I finished a Red Special. It sounds great and all but I wanted it to, or expected it to, come out better. It’s my first attempt at ugly and old, but I have built pedals. I used my same old method of slide-on label and clear coat. Even the satin came out too shiny for a decent fake out though. I ended up with a gain instead of a sag control? The rearrangement of the power jack, without thinking it through, made me have to flip the board so that it would fit. Thanks to the pot condoms I can get a really solid fit so no worries. Sometimes I reuse old drill templates and labels from old saved files. Lets face it. I was hurrying. Haste can have it’s problems. Lesson learned on this build: Go at a slow pace and enjoy yourself. Here she is

    Looks excellent

I’m a fan of relic’d pedals you’ve done a fine job of messing it up haha

I’ve done perfectly pristine etches then sanded and scraped everything off

Just for you here’s one from way back I also sanded off some of the clearcoat around the toggle as you can see
