Three recent builds to share this evening.  First up is one of Barry’s outstanding PUTB boards.  The initial build was less than outstanding due to an issue with an older 7660 of dubious lineage that somehow got installed backward.    After letting it rest a while I noticed the issue, corrected it with a more recent one purchased from Barry.  Started playing with transistors I had within the typical Tone Bender range and found three that really, really like each other even though Q2 is a little on the high side at 86-90 hfe.  On Q3 is at -7.53v and I’m not messing with it any more.  The box is a Textured Black 125B from Stomp Box Parts who also provided sockets for the germanium transistors.

Here’s the face (really should have cleaned the knobs):

    And the guts:

Next up is one of Jon Patton’s Hamlet delays built on an OshPark board.  Wasn’t paying attention when I ordered the boards and ended up with 6 instead of 3.  During the initial build of the first board I managed to reverse wiring on the pots which really makes for a wonky delay.  Couldn’t figure out what I did so I put it away.  Sometime later I dug out a second board and decided to try again.  Decided to change the volume and tone trimmers to external pots making it a 5 knob build (Repeats, Mix, Delay, Tone, Volume) and also decided to use one of Barry’s 3PDT boards as well.  Box for this one is also a Textured Black 125B from Stomp Box Parts, PT2399 is from Barry.

    And the guts:

Pumped up from the success of the second Hamlet board I decided to give the first board another run.  Second try was a charm!  Since I had already populated all the trimmers this one was completed as a 3 knob delay (Repeats, Mix, Delay).  Again the PT2399 came from Barry.  I used a DPDT stomp to get tails – it sounded neat but I really don’t use it much.  The 125B box is a recent order from the new, improved, revamped Small Bear – the new site seems clunky but the order was shipped real fast.  Once completed it fired right up and I had to start rearranging my board to make room for two Hamlets.

    And the guts:

    Thanks for looking.
