The hot-rodded Plexi for all you rebels; the KotB has the best juiced Plexi sound I have ever played (ok…with the exception of the real thing, but I’ll take the KotB over the tinnitus!). This pedal picks up where my PlexiPre (PlexiPlus + TwEQ) build leaves off in terms of the gain. Where the PlexiPre is a classic rock god, the Hot Rod Rebel just screams hard rock. Angus, Slash, Wylde, Metallica…it’ll peel paint off the wall if you want it to*.
Pretty standard build with the exception of a 1uF cap that I used film instead of electrolytic…not sure if it makes it quieter, but it is SILENT when you want it to be. I think this is one of my cleanest builds…I hid the wires so well it makes me laugh. Rock n’f”n Roll \m/
*should not actually be used for stripping paint, statement used for theatrical effect only :-p
