Guitar Bass Driver transistors

Greetings, y’all. I presented this question on the facebook group, but no one responded, so I am here to try again.

I’m building the guitar/bass driver and I don’t have any 2n5457’s on hand. I do have plenty of J201’s that I got from Barry however. I know they’re different, but how drastically different will the pedal be using them instead?

2N5457 and J201 are very similar and would work just as well.
