As long as they’re PNP they should work germanium PNP transistors will generally be lower hFE than silicon PNP so I’d try lower gain first 2N3906 are fairly low hFE
They may not sound the same or they may sound better the best thing to do is use SIL sockets and try different ones

Another recommendation is a SS9012 transistor, the PNP version of a S9013. These tend to be fairly low gain and BYOC stocks them, and uses them as test transistors in their Fuzz Face type pedal in case the supplied Ge transistors are acting up. Got one in a Ge-Si FF pedal I built a few years ago and it sounds identical to the all Ge FF I built. I put an external bias control on both FF type pedals I built.
