One Knob Fuzz, right hold my beer. OKF with Tight Switch and an Emerald Ring.

The OKF is a new board and the Emerald Ring is a much older build that languished in small enclosure for several years. The dynamics of the pair is interesting, the OKF tends to blast right through everything with all the subtlety of a small nuclear device, even sort of overriding the rule of thumb to play the Emerald Ring above the 12th fret. There is no apparent ring effect from the first fret to the 12th with the Ring on but it creeps in below the 12th. The Tight Switch also has a pretty subtle effect that’s almost overwhelmed by the OKF.

    Excellent and thanks for sharing.

I have not tried it but I would be curious as to how the order would affect the Emerald Ring tones.

I just took a look back on a build that I did test which was combining the Sriracha Fuzz with the Emerald Ring and found that I preferred the Emerald Ring 1st if no order switching were implemented.

    Barry,

When I initially boxed this OKF and Emerald Ring the signal cut out when I engaged the Ring and it didn’t work on its own. Thinking I had damaged the Ring removing it from one box and installing it in another I ordered another. Before pulling everything out of the box I checked it one more time and the PCB Fairy obviously had done her magic so I left the older Ring in place and finished that box. I also have a couple more OKF boards to experiment with so I’ll try putting the other Ring before the fuzz in one of those (and pretend I did all that on purpose).

Congratulations on a great idea for a pedal.  When I built my modded Emerald Ring, I tested it out with a One Knob Fuzz (that I also modded as a 1+1 knob fuzz).  The two work well together.
