After Blaster R4 value (answered)

Using a J201 for Q1 on the AB, I ended up having to use a 15k resistor to achieve 4.6 v on The Drain leg. I knew with using a J201, I would have to up the resistor value a bit, but I’m wondering if anyone else has had to raise the value that much? I’ve tested both through hole and surface mount 201’s on the AB, and my component testers, to make sure I was using a legit Jfet.

Thanks, Barry. I didn’t think so, I was just a little surprised. I fired it up this morning attached to a Red Special with a Tone Tweq, and it sounds great. Lots of gain on tap. 🙂
