Some fuzz pedals get big. The Behemoth gets enormous.
The Behemoth is all about low-end weight, thick saturation, and fuzz that can go from surprisingly tame to completely unruly. It sounds great on guitar, but plug in a bass or a down-tuned guitar and you start to hear what this thing was really built to do.
The Wool control takes you from a more open, defined fuzz into increasingly thick and saturated territory. There’s plenty of fuzz available, but backing it down reveals some surprisingly usable tones.
The EQ control lets you decide just how much of that low end you want to unleash. Dial it toward the bass side and the Behemoth delivers huge, crushing low end. Turn it clockwise and the sound moves toward a more familiar fuzz character, making it equally at home on standard-tuned guitar.
And then there’s Pinch. With Pinch counterclockwise, the Behemoth is big, full and relatively well behaved. Start turning it clockwise and things begin to tighten up, gate, sputter and break apart. At the extreme, it gets downright nasty. That’s where the Behemoth really earns its name.
Doom. Desert Rock. Stoner Rock. Down-tuned riffs. Bass or Guitar, the Behemoth is ready.
