InactiveWhy the elephant? Years ago a musician thought I said, “Dumbo amp”. The Wonderful World of Banksy featuring an elephant with a missile strapped to its back; Hence Dumbletone with an Ascension Boost …

For extra-credit … I finished two combo pedals today! The circuit feature a bias meter for the fuzz and a preamp based on British amps.

ParticipantCrumpred, sure would be cool to find a way to use the inductor coil in that meter as part of a tone control!
I have a pile of double builds stacking up that I need to share, including 2x from the bonus boards of 2025!

InactiveBarry would be the one to ask about that. I bought that meter years ago for a fuzz project and nixed it. I love this meter for bias, because I can dial in to 2V for sweet fuzz and at 4V it makes for usable cackle (anything over or under doesn’t do it for me).The meter is wired to ground with 1k ohm (.994*) resistor and comes off a VC testing pad. I would prefer a less bulky meter for practicality.

ParticipantCrumpred, again, very cool, sir!!!
I have yet to mess with any of the GCI stuff, though I am very close to jumping in on Thing That Should Not Be.. Mesa Mk. 2C+ pre w/eq, and an Aphex EQ chained to it.
Sure would be less expensive than this beast I saw and played yesterday morning!!

InactiveThe T.T.S.N.B tosses the K.I.S.S rule out the window with 21 controls. If I built a circuit like that I would use sliders for the 5-band and build the circuit into the top deck of the pedal board. But, as they say, “Ain’t nothin’ like the real thing.”

ParticipantAgreed completely!
Honestly though, maaan, I literally purchased a Mesa Studio 22 (not the plus,) on this past Saturday from a local shop.. and less than 24 hours later I stumble upon this Mk II B. Such is life!
