I started this build and set it aside a few years ago. I included the script, 2/4 stage, and tempo LED mods. I’m trying to get it buttoned up now. It’s sounding great (seriously, I’m super pleased with the tone and low noise), but the tempo LED isn’t illuminating, regardless of the pot position. (Also, I’m having a difficult time locating the build docs for this earlier version, either on my own computer or on the website.)

The one clue I can think to provide at this point is that the tempo LED does flash one time when I’m unplugging the power-supply barrel from the pedal. I’m interpreting that as having a functional LED that’s wired in with at least the right polarity.

Any suggestions on what I ought to start checking?

Pictures may be able to help?

Not much to go on otherwise.

Let’s see if I managed to capture anything useful.

Here’s one for orientation. It’s probably obvious, but the LED on the upper right is the tempo LED.

Yellow shrink over red insulation on positive lead of tempo LED (I hope).

Main board moved away in an attempt to show lug wiring on pot.

A couple more, trying to show different angles.

It is a fairly simple mod so the first thing I would do is verify continuity from +9v to the LED as well as the Ground with your DMM.

also the solder joints are very close to shorting on the enclosure. might not be an issue but worth a look.

The old build doc is on the Guides Page – Top Link:

Thank you for your help. It’s the DC jack. That lug isn’t nearly as secure as the others, and when I jump from the solid lug to the floppy one, the led flashes. Many, many thanks!
