Hey wurly. Let’s get this working. Don’t let these jacks mess you up. Study it so you know what tab goes to which connection. The last pic you posted shows Orange to Sleeve, Blue to Ring and Black to the Tip. Tip is signal. The other two are power (ground). The tip hits the connection with the tallest bump away from the base. The tab is almost always opposite or straight across from the connection point. Sleeve is easy to see because it is right there visibly having a tab to solder to. That is always ground and usually we will pick black for that wire if we have a choice. So what I see is that you you probably want the blue wire from the footswitch to solder to the tip (signal). Since you are incorporating a battery, the black from the battery snap goes to the Ring connection which should be the tab opposite the connection with the short bump. If no battery there would be no need for a ring connection at all. Lastly Ground solders to the Sleeve. Looks like you have that one correct. So Sleeve= obvious, Ring= short bump, and Tip= tall bump.
