Just finished my first Maestrom Drive pedal. I really like it but is sounds a bit dak unless the tone pot is all the way up. Any suggestions as to what to change to make the tone POT more usable?

    Thanks in advance

If you need the tone pot all the way up I would suggest it would be worth going over for an incorrect resistor or cap value first.

I realize everything is subjective but I would not release a circuit without testing it fully, including the tone control and I did not find it “dark” or feel a need to turn the potentiometer up fully to make it merely adequate.

Feel free to post it here so we can have a look before modding it.

Otherwise, focus here and make sure R values are actually R values and not K values by accident, and let us know if you made any substitutions including the pot taper.

Please confirm that you have the 470K resistor installed at R2. The 470R resistor should be installed at R7. If these resistors are reversed, R2 and C1 will form a high pass filter that will reduce all frequencies below about 15400Hz.  With R2 at 470K and C1 at 22n, the filter cutoff is 15Hz to eliminate inaudible low frequencies.

Please advise if this corrects the issue.

Thanks, I did read the instructions about the 470K and 470R, great point thought I will check resistors tonight and get back to you. I appreciare the quick response from both.
