    Finished building the PP board except I haven’t installed the JFET’s.  I purchase a package of 5 J201 JFET’s from Barry when he made the first batch available to buy – at least a couple of years ago, probably more.  Confirmed by using a DMM, the JFET pinout is as below.

     

    Do I just place the JFET’s in the sockets orientated as shown by the board graphics?  Is the orientation the same as seen in the diagram below for Gate, Source, and Drain, which would be the pinout for the JFET’s I have?

    Big O – yup. Just follow the silk-screened outline for that JFET and you’re good.

    Thanks Cybercrow.  I figured that was the way to do it, but I remembered there was something was previously discussed about possible different  pinouts of the newer JFET’s and that some type of adapter might be needed to have the correct orientation.

    I guess the next step will be firing it up on the breadboard and adjust the trimmers to get the values given in the instructions.
