I want to use illuminated pots for my Apollo Tremolo, but they don’t come in 1K Linear. Can I use a 5K pot with a 1.2K or 1.5K resistor across it? If so, should it go across the outer lugs of the pot?

    Thanks,

    PWC

A 1K5 resistor across the outer lugs will yield approx. 1K15 ohms.  Since pots usually measure less than their rated value, this will be close enough.  However, you will not have an exact linear taper.  But I doubt that you will notice the difference.  I would do it.

Thanks! I’ll give it a shot.
