Love, love, love the T-Drive I just finished. Truly the most satisfying build in a while. I have a question for those who have built it. I cannot seem to get anything different from the “Hot Mode” switch. No difference at all. Has anyone experimented with varying R5? Has it made a difference? Would love some comments. I’m playing through a humbucker-equipped guitar. The effect in stock mode (as it is) is just spectacular though.

    Thanks.

    Oscar – in the T-Drive build docs . . . . .

“SW1: This switch will allow for a Stock Mode / Hot Mode. For guitars with hot pickups you could also use an On / Off / On switch for three modes. The Off setting would then decrease the overall Gain. You can experiment with the value at R5 Up or Down. Gain results will vary based on Pickups.”

So with humbuckers, I would suggest raising the value of R5 to something above the specified 3K3Ω. I’d put in a 20K trimpot, (in rheostat fashion) to dial in a satisfying boost.

Thanks so Much. You are a genius. Just did what you suggested. Amazing, what a difference. i was able to adjust it perfectly. Wow. Thank you. My favorite build so far. AND I learned what “rheostat” is. Trully appreciate it.

I’m having the same troubles with my T-Drive.  The switch makes no difference.

I don’t have a rheostat on hand.  (I do have some trim pots though)

Do you have a feel for what resistor value would be close to your setting?  I can’t really determine the position of Oscar’s rheostat, as well as not being able to determine the approximate resistance even if I could! (not really a total newb, but still trying to grasp basic electronics)  I’m guessing he used your recommended 20k.

If a trim pot can be used, can you advise me on how to wire it?  You know with the 3 legs and all…

Thanks for any help you can give.

    BTW this pedal sounds great!
