In the BOM for the “SRIRACHA FUZZ 2022” it states to use a 1N5817 4.5v diode for D2. The 1N5817’s that I have are rated at 5.1v. Since this is a circuit protection diode, will I be okay using the 5.1v diodes instead?

    Thank you, in advance!

The v4.5 isn’t actually voltage Steve it’s referring to board versions

So you’re good to go if it’s a 1N5817 schottky diode

I’m not sure where you get your 5v1 rating unless it’s a zener? The 1N5817 is rated for up to 20v used for reverse polarity protection because it has a low forward voltage so less voltage drops out

    From build notes:

** New v4.5 version adds D2 (1N5817) Circuit protection Diode.

Thanks Billy for clearing that up! I checked my order receipt from Tayda and they are in fact Schottky diodes not a zener. After looking closer at the BOM I see that it says v4.5 not 4.5v. My bad! 🙂
    Thanks again!
