I built this Sho Nuff v2 boost a few years ago. It actually has a really great sound but I have never used it because the crackle pot also makes a lot of noise when turned. I assumed it was a bad pot but I have changed the pot out twice – and the noise is always the same; sounds like really scratchy pot through whole turn. Somehow the circuit is picking up the noise from the pot. Which component might be doing that?
The original circuit that sells for hundreds does the same thing. It’s a negative feedback control like the old 60s recording console inputs which crackled when you adjusted them too.
The thing with the SHO is that you would not need to fiddle with the knob much.
So it is more of a set and forget thing. However if you did want to fiddle with it, since it is only one knob you can disengage the pedal and turn it to the other setting you wanted for a different song or whatever.
