I’m building a T-Drive.  The only B500 pots I have are HUGE and they aren’t pcb mounted.

To avoid the troubles I was wondering if an A500 might work.  I understand the sweep will be different, but will it change the tone of the circuit?

It will be the gain control.

Increasing gain would be much more gradual using an A taper

    At 50% rotation a B500K would be about 250K where’as an A taper would be around 50K

It would still work but may be bunched up in the last 10% with the pot being wired as a variable resistor

You can see the difference in this diagram

Thanks Billy.  I went ahead and put it together using the A500.

It sounds good though.  The gain control doesn’t seem to be problematic so I’ll probably leave it.

The pedal sounds good.  There just doesn’t seem to be much difference in the switch positions.  Don’t really hear the “hot” setting.  I saw something on the forum about someone else having this trouble.  I’ll change some resistors at R5 and see if it helps.

    Thanks for your help.
