deaf by Distortion – RAT+, Emexar & Over Drive Circuit

Hey everyone, just finished a couple new combo builds and this one I call – Deaf by Distortion.  I was originally planning on using the ADD board but I had some space issues on the two outer circuits.  I got too close to the corner screw shafts for the outer circuits and was forced to hand-wire the pots to the boards – this also prompted me to use the ODC board instead of the ADD to save the direct mounted board for when I could…directly mount it.  Mis-measurments aside, it sounds great!

The signal goes first into the ODC, with which I have added a 6-way switch to select the diode(s) used in the clipping.  Next, the Emexar is built stock with the addition of another 6-way switch to swap out the 3rd diode for sym or asym clipping with a few different options.  Lastly, I swapped the Si diodes in the Rat for Bat46 schottky diodes and added the switches for clipping options.  This thing screams!  Thanks for looking!

Cool! I wonder how well that chains with your Holy Fuzz . . ..  (???)

I hadn’t tried….until you asked. 🙂    Its surprisingly quiet (unless the OKF is involved), but it basically sounds like the proverbial “exploding speaker” sharp edge but a gigantic body.
