Diamond 30 is a British-style amplifier preamp built around chime, clarity, and touch-sensitive response, with a carefully selected asymmetrical clipping arrangement that uses different diode thresholds to shape the character of the overdrive. From clean and edge-of-breakup tones to more aggressive overdrive, it responds to the way you play while letting the character of your guitar come through.
Active three-band EQ is at the heart of Diamond 30. The Bass, Mid, and Treble controls work within the active gain stage, giving you direct control over how the preamp responds across the frequency spectrum. Push the low end, bring the mids forward, or open up the top end to find the combination that works with your guitar and amplifier.
An internal TOP trimmer provides additional control over the circuit’s upper-frequency character. Designed as a set-and-forget adjustment, it lets you fine-tune the amount of chime and sparkle to complement your guitar and rig. Bright, articulate Strat- and Tele-style guitars can be dialed back for just the right amount of chime, while humbucker-equipped guitars can be opened up for additional clarity. Set the character.
