SMD Matched J201 Quad Set

Ideal for Phase 90/45-style phasers (originally calling for the obsolete 2N5952).

Why Matched?

JFETs are not all electrically identical. We test and sort a large batch, then select four with closely matching readings within a 0.05 V maximum spread. You get a matched set without having to purchase, test, and sort a large quantity yourself.

Matched JFETs Are Not Just for Phasers

Closely matched JFETs will benefit many pedal projects, including preamps, overdrives, and other multi JFET circuits, helping your build perform better and deliver the sound you expect. I have always used matched sets on my drives.

What’s Included

• 4 × tested and matched MMBFJ201 JFETs

• 4 × pre-soldered D/G/S adapter boards

• 4 × pre-soldered gold-plated right-angle pin headers

Finding four closely matched JFETs takes more than a handful.

 

 

Important: With projects that required a 2N5952, you must reverse the orientation when using a J201 JFET.

This is our legacy 2N5952 silkscreen (see example below):
G → top pad
S → middle pad
D → bottom pad

 

 

Simply match the D on the J201 SMD adapter PCB to the Drain pad on the main PCB.
