Hi again, I have a Best Ever OD that will pass sound as the pedal should sound along with this high pitch squeal. The pedal sounds huge and a really hoping  some help.

Here are things I have tried

    -Reflowed all solder joints

-Cleaned and changed all new pots

    -Replaced Diodes, LEDS, Capacitors

    Please advise of additional tricks

Does it squeal constantly or only when everything is turned up?

Also the wire length is very long on your pots which may also be an issue. This PCB should use on-board pots to prevent that. Since I cannot see any off-board wiring I cannot make any comments there but one of the critical things to be careful of is having your power wiring running in parallel with any of your potentiometer wiring (since it is part of the audio path). That will cause noise in a high gain circuit like this one.

The best trick of all is an Audio Probe to make quick work of where the problem is.

Just follow the audio path from input to output.

Barry, I soldered the pots directly and it improved tremendously. I will sit down this week with an audio probe and report findings.

    That “PRES” pot….

The instructions say to use a “C” pot. I’m guessing you used an “A” pot and wired it backwards (?). If you actually used a C pot and wired it backward, that would cause your PRES pot to be maxed in what would normally be a minimal position. Am I looking at that right?

Reversing the A pot would work, but the logarithmic taper would off.
