The photo isn’t clear enough for me to determine damage to the PCB. Assuming the SWAH isn’t working – Is the 78L05 soldered directly to the board? While they will usually stand up to soldering my habit is to use sockets for ICs and transistor like devices, makes it easy to swap out wrong/no-functional parts.
Very difficult to see as Chuck says your photo is out of focus, the pads are double sided so you can solder to the other side if required or hardwire it, if it doesn’t work
It’s definitely a bad picture, but even so, the brown I see there looks like flux, not PCB damage. Hold the camera further from the PCB and take a better picture. And to Billy’s point, hopefully you used the sockets that came with your kit. I think we’d all like to get a better picture of those solder joints. What solder are you using?
