Please turn the trim pots on the PURP into on board pots to control grit and bias! This is the coolest boost ever!
Oh yeah, I made a combo build featuring the Red Special and PURP making the controls for biasing and grit external.
That is very nice and as good use for a combo. Thanks for sharing.
I won’t be making on-board pots for those controls because there are too many noobs that would not understand what normal is resulting in a lot of support questions and the board would also need to then be twice the size it is now.
That said it is easy enough to hand wire two pots and locate them on the enclosure wherever you like.
I do appreciate the comment which shows there are good uses to have those on-board is great for anybody to try.
the wrapper is real sharp-looking. all your builds have a nice mystique and makes me contemplate abandoning my rattle-can approach.
Thank you both! Barry, my apologies if my thread title came off as strident. My intention was half joke around and half share the awesome results you can get iwith making the trim pots offboard control.
Sofnwhat, I’ll take it! I don’t do anything fancy besides print graphics on adhesive vinyl paper! I thought they looked rough compared to some of the more experienced builders here!
