Finally got back to work on a quick project involving an Emexar, Stage 3, Roto Tone, and Easy Order Switch – this turned into a long term project because I tend to get distracted.  Got everything wired up with the Easy Order Board and got nothing, removed the board and it worked quite well with the Stage 3 going into the Emexar – but I really like what the Stage 3 does after a dirt board too.

Did I attach the board to my switch correctly?

Sorry for the bad pic – as shown the toggle moves basically North-South and I’m wondering if I should have attached it to toggle East-West instead.

No.  The picture shows the switch lugs mounted horizontally.  The switch flips vertically, North to South.  Check your wiring.

Thank you sir.  Will clean out the solder and give it another try.

    From my days at USNA:

    Why Didn’t You Say Sir?

Sir, sir is subservient word surviving from the surly days of old Serbia, when certain serfs, too ignorant to remember their lord’s names, yet too servile to blaspheme them, circumvented the situation by surrogating the subservient word sir, by which I now belatedly address a certain senior cirroped who correctly surmised that I was syrupy enough to say sir after every word I said, sir.

Today, I cringe when people call me that.  We are no longer serfs and lords.  We are all equal in our search for knowledge about “WIRES AND SPARKS!”

    But, thanks anyway.

I had no idea you attended the Annapolis School For Wayward Boys And Girls!  Having survived 22 years in the USCG as enlisted and officer (I attended the Yorktown School For Delusional Petty Officers (which has since moved to New London with the CGA)), I tend to roll off sir or Sir frequently and automatically regardless of personnel status.  When I first put on the gold bars I had to break the habit of responding to “Sir” with “Don’t call me Sir, my parents are married.”

Ah yes.  Just one of the many military jokes.

Did you get that EOB working?

Chuck make sure you look at this wiring update.

I had the yellow and purple backwards in the doc.

    It should look like this:

Thank you Barry.  I’ll give that a shot in the morning.  That makes more sense than the old BD.

I didn’t say which morning I would try that.  It worked!

    Thank you,
