Built this for a friend of mine. It sounds great and I think overall it came out pretty good. As the title says, it’s a Ratt Deluxe with an LM308 silicon/red LED and symmetric/asymmetric diode mods. During testing I thought it also sounded good with a boosted signal going into the circuit when the clipping diodes were bypassed so I used the AfterBlaster pcb and turned it into a Pre-Blaster by jumpering it to be always on and tying the off-board effect in and out so it’s just the boost by itself. The output of that then runs into the input of the Ratt. The only problem is when the pre-boost volume is at max (I moved the trimmer to an external pot) the AfterBlaster gets too loud and causes the rat circuit to gate. The signal then returns as the signal voltage comes back down. I might just add some resistance before the pot because it only happens when it’s cranked, at less than full blast it seems to work fine.
