Now it’s time for the Funk 49 Fuzz! I was drawn to this PCB ever since I first saw it on the site last November. The idea of a small-tweed-in-a-box is certainly appealing and it does that very well, but this thing is really surprising me. It is capable of so much more, from a dirty boost to some huge sounding distortion tones to a squealing mess (in a good way).
I decided to mount the Gain pot on the front and I’m glad I did. It’s been fun tweaking that along with the Fuzz knob to shape the sound. You can purposefully turn it up too high so it squeals a bit (or way too much) like a microphonic amp.
I love the way this PCB looks with the op amp set in the middle like an engine.
