I built a NT Dumble for a friend and he asked me about the function of the voice control. I’m not really sure what it controls. He says that in his mind it pans from a Bluebreaker sound to a more ODS sound. I didn’t play it enough to actually come up with that conclusion. What is your take on it?

Great thread! I wish I would have read this before building this pedal. I’ve had a v1 board sitting around for quite some time. I completed it last night and had the same gain pot problem. of course, I didn’t realize I had that problem until I plugged it in. I love reading these old threads and seeing what you guys come up with in your trou…Read more

Somewhere I read that an MPF 102 was a direct replacement for the J113. Although it works, it is hot! After biasing, this boost is too loud!

Should I treat the MPF 102 as a J201 and put a jumper in R1? Or should I remove and install the J113? At the time of populating the board, I didn’t have a J113. I have some now. Thanks!

Here are a few of my first builds. I’m not sure why I didn’t get pics of the Apollo and the Black Dog painted and complete. Guess I forgot. I should get those back in a couple of days. Unless the guy wants to buy them. I let him try them out first.

I’m a newbie also. I had trouble determining the type of capacitor at first also. Looking at the board, electrolytics will always have a plus or minus, or be shaded white on one side meaning negative. As far as film and ceramic goes, it’s the size on the board. I’ve started to recognize them by value, but I always double check the board.
