Hey y’all. I just built the Muff’n and left out the diodes on the board so that I could use the roto-tone deluxe board for 4 different diode choices.

I connected the R.T.D. (from pads A & B) to D1 on the Muff’n board, added jumpers between pads 1 & 2 of SW1 but I am not getting anything from the R.T.D. at all. What am I missing? The pedal works, just the roto-tone deluxe does nothing.

Hey B. Try pads 2 and 3 of the SW1 for D1. I believe you are connected currently to D3 and D4. Have fun making beautiful noise.

In the build doc for the Muff’n, It says that if you don’t want to use the onboard diode selection (using SW1), place a jumper between pads 1 & 2 of SW1 and do not populate D3 and D4 (which are the LED’s). I take that to mean, the diodes you do populate on the board are the 1N4148’s, leaving the LED’s out, as having pads 1 & 2 of SW1 would make the default setting the 1N4148’s.

No it can’t work as you describe. I can see the trace right on the board going from pad 1 to D4. You’ll need to switch the SW1 jumper to 2&3 if you want to wire to D1. Check me with your DMM. Let us know.

Okay! That seemed to do the trick. I don’t understand why it says something different in the BOM?

Okay, so now my second question. How would I add a starved voltage type addition to this pedal? I’ve seen something about taking the resistor from the transistor that goes to ground and swapping it for a potentiometer. Is that right? What resistor exactly? R17?
